Can Ask.Fm be tracked? - Silfy - Jun 6, 2015

On my African American friend's ask.fm and saying a bunch of black jokes under Anonymous.. if he knew it was me he wouldn't be super mad, but he tends to overreact sometimes. Is there anyway if he reports to the cops I could get traced to? I don't want this shit on my record..

Just to make things clear we're good friends.. I'm not a racist dick and we throw racist jokes at each other all the time..

Black humour is not against the law.

Yes, it can be traced, but not by ordinary users of the site, the administrators will have access to the information.

Yeah but he's taking it like a girl and is threatening to tell the cops, etc

I should probably stop now then because I might accidentally break the law and get in some trouble?

I say again, black humour is not against the law.
There's nothing the cops can do if it doesn't violate a law.
Also ask.fm won't release personal information to a local police dept.
Nor will the police dept. give two thirds of a shit to actually ask them.

You're fine OP :)

Link us to the ask and we'll answer your questions.

Unless it's some super awesome shit that is going down, admin's of Ask.fm won't even be bothered. It's up to them to seek and track the information, no one else has access to their database and no one else can trace you.

Uhmm... I'm sure it can, but it's not very accurate, it gives you a radius within 50km of where it is, but it's not exactly precise. I've seen it before.

Thank you for your input on geo IP addresses. Law enforcement can ask your ISP to give the location of the IP being borrowed from the IP pool.

Define 'super awesome shit'

He described it as cyber-bullying, when I'm literally just saying jokes

Of course it can be traced. It's a public website.

I'm pretty sure it can be tracked. Pack you bags, move to mexico, change your name to Juan and live above a launderette. GL.
