How to setup an IRC botnet :) - DisruptionSec - Jun 13, 2015

Since I got so many requests to do a tutorial I thought why the hell not, I hope you find this interesting.

Things needed for this tutorial:
A VPS or Dedicated server.
You can get a VPS from the marketplace on HF, someone is advertising good VPSes there, go have a look.
A debian based OS installed: (Ubuntu XX.XX, Debian X...)
An SSH Client:
Windows: Putty, fairly straight forward, link where to download it: http://www.putty.org/
Linux/Mac OS: Preinstalled on your computer SSH
To login enter: "sudo ssh username@IPaddress" then login

Now that you have an SSH connection to your VPS/Dedicated server follow these instructions:

Now that you installed you IRC server, go check if it's online by connecting with your client with: yourvpsIP port 6667
If you don't have an IRC client use this website: https://kiwiirc.com/client/ then click on server settings and put your VPS IP and port 6667
Now join a channel you want example: /join #hackforums

So your IRC works, what now?
Well it's up to you now, time to go edit some bots or buy IRC bots and have them sent to you, here's a couple I found online, they're opensource and you can edit them to your likings:
http://pastebin.com/FKLRFrS3
http://pastebin.com/7ALQ9LxX
Both these bots are written in c, to compile it run these commands on your server:
gcc filename.c -o fileexecutablename -lpthread
-lpthread is only for bots with multithreading.

Thanks HF for the support and hopefully I helped you out with setting up your botnet :D

PS: PM me if you need any help, reply and give some feedback about the post ^_^

This tutorial is actually about setting up an IRCD. IRC Botnet is an IRCD filled with Bots. 😁 Exploits are missing mate. I am expecting from you to share some exploits to get *Nix Bots, so members could Setup their "IRC Botnet".

Anyhow, whatever you've shared, you need an appreciation. I can clearly see a valuable addition to HF community in shape of you. Knowledgeable and Helpful. 👍

Well, it's how to setup the CnC, the bots are up to the user to choose, They can go with PMA or anything they want, this is just the main introduction to how to get it done :p

I'll do more posts when I can, I can't share my personal work since it's for a future project for HF.

In office environment, maybe but not for malware
Generally insecure CNC, alongside it's highly detectable traffic type, network analysis would be a field day

Personally, HTTP/S I prefer over all, but com se com sa they all do the same purpose

HTTP is the way to go, no one pays attention to web requests because they are so common.
