If someone admits to scamming, do they get closed - Trenchguns - Jun 25, 2015 I was reading a thread about someone who wanted to pay back someone they scammed, and multiple people said that the op was going to get banned for admitting to scamming. I don't recall this being written in the rules anywhere, and I wanted to know if this was true. As always, thanks for taking the time to read this. Code Our staff on occasion will ban a scammer, if the evidence is on site and apparent.* - Herbo - Jun 25, 2015 I do not think so, all I know for sure is that staff do not get involved with deal disputes. * - Trenchguns - Jun 25, 2015 Code Our staff on occasion will ban a scammer, if the evidence is on site and apparent.* - Hexicidal - Jun 25, 2015 Staff are not involved in deal disputes period. That is true, but for 99.8% of cases, these questions are simply a "no." * - Roger Waters - Jun 25, 2015 It depends on the situation at hand. Just because a member has an open deal dispute doesn't mean he'll get closed or banned. There are several factors taken into account when someone is banned or closed for scamming. Usually when someone goes around blatantly bragging that they scammed some people or they have several legitimate scam reports that they don't bother responding to, they could be banned or closed. Usually in these cases, those members are a threat to the community and Administration take the action that is necessary by closing their account. * - Trenchguns - Jun 25, 2015 (Jun 25, 2015 10:33 PM)Roger Waters Wrote: It depends on the situation at hand. That's an answer that adheres more to what I read in the rules. Thanks. * - Omniscient - Jun 26, 2015 Action taken by Staff/Admins is at our discretion. I won't answer your hypothetical question because it requires an actual instance with context for a proper decision to be made. I have closed accounts in similar circumstances but I have also not taken any action in others. |
