[Tutorial] How to get the old Skype back! - morph - Jun 27, 2015 Personally, I can't stand the new Skype, it both looks and feels horrible. So I thought, why not make a small guide? Anyways, first of all we start off by uninstalling Skype. I should not need to explain how to do this.. Then, download this and extract it anywhere and run it. That was not hard at all, you might think?(like she did) But hey, nobody want's those damn update notifications, so we'll go ahead and disable them. Press Windows key + R (or Start Menu -> Run) and type in "services.msc /s"(without quotation marks, obviously). A window named Services should pop up. Scroll down and find "Skype Updater", right click it and press Properties. This should pop up: Press "Startup type" and change it to Disabled and press apply. It should now look like this: Voilà!
