Headset mic not working? Turtle Beach X11 - -Dartz - Jun 30, 2015 Hey guys, I just realized now that my mic from my headset isn't working. I have a HP Pavillion, not sure of the exact model, but it's something like this: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-2-40GHz-Windows-17-e040us/dp/B00EKVXAAC The laptop only has 1 audio port for headphones, so I bought a splitter that allows me to use a mic and headphones (because my headset uses 2). This is the splitter I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SP0WAQ/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza But for whatever reason, I guess it's not picking up my headset mic, because it's using my built-in mic on the computer. I tried to go to recording devices to see if I can enable my headset mic but it doesn't even show up. I also kept plugging it in and unplugging it to see if there was any change in my voice while recording, and there was no change. Can anyone help me out? Thanks. * - Confusing - Jul 1, 2015 Make sure the device driver for the headset was properly recognized and installed first. Then restart your computer and go to view your recording devices again. * - -Dartz - Jul 1, 2015 (Jul 1, 2015 04:03 PM)Confusing Wrote: Make sure the device driver for the headset was properly recognized and installed first. AFAIK there are no drivers for the splitter or headset. * - -Dartz - Jul 2, 2015 Just tested, the headset works fine, but the splitter doesn't work with my headset for whatever reason. Does anyone know of a splitter that would work with this headset? * - Nosymbols - Jul 2, 2015 just plug the pink into pink port, green into green port and it should work. (Obviously USB needs to be plugged in for power as well) this works for my x12s but should be fine for x11 also. ( Emphasis on plugging the USB in for power so you don't spend ages wondering why it dont work :p ) also, another notable is that my x12 seemed to hate my desktop and I needed to jiggle it a bit for it to register it as being there. (Works fine in xbox though which is why that was weird) Hope this helps, if not.. Buy x12s and re-read this :p * - -Dartz - Jul 2, 2015 (Jul 2, 2015 08:40 PM)Nosymbols Wrote: just plug the pink into pink port, green into green port and it should work.
