C++ Ideas/Suggestions - KingMarked - Jul 19, 2015

Hello, my name is Alex. I recently learned C++ but I find myself struggling with finding cool programs/tools to work on.

I would really appreciate if you just oculd give some ideas of cool programs to code in c++. Like a small list or something. I will then, after completion post how far I've gone with it on the forums. Thank you. 🤝

Almost every programmer experiences this issue. Here are some small ideas.

Hangman
Word search solver
Sudoku solver
Connect 4

You could also make a program that generates a random maze path and puts a little bug in the maze that tries to figure out the fastest route.

Too high, too low program (a guessing game.)
Tic-Tac-Toe.
Calculator program.

All of the posts mentioned above are great programs you could work on; however, if you really want to take a step forward, try to create a program that benefits you. Think of something that troubles you in real life, or something that hassles you on your computer -- then create a program that solves that problem. As for example, make your math teacher is giving you out tons of homework, you're late on it and you need to turn it in on time. Create a program using the known formulas and try to see if you can solve them just by plugging values in -- a calculator program. There's tons of things you can do, but just think of something you enjoy or hate, and code to make those things better.

^ That's what you're supposed to do. Programming is about solving problems with code, be it boredom (video games), or finance (calculators, POS, etc) or anything else.

Something that involves structures , something that involves pointers , etc.
Basically a thing that would make you use something you havent yet used , at least in a specific way.
