About converting .exe to code - supporter55 - Jul 19, 2015 Greetings Dear Hackforums members, I want to convert .exe file to code. I mean a person sent me a program made by visual basic 2015 , so I did want to know how he did it so i did want to search for codes , open the .exe file with vb 2015 but it did not gave me the correct form , how should I do it ? Kind regards Thank you * - PhantomElite - Jul 19, 2015 lol lol lol lol lol i mean you're at least a beginner with an interesting objective so good on you one does not simply get the source code of a closed-source project. you must Reverse Engineer the program. if you are actually interested in seriously doing this, reverse engineering is one of the more difficult and complicated topics of infosec. it involves knowledge of C & ASM and more. to start, read "Hacking: The Art of Exploitation 2nd Edition" available in PDF format for free online from various sources. there's other books but that's a good one. there's lots of ways to learn RE. Assembly is essential, and C is very important. you will probably want to learn both before going into RE- though there's a crash course in the book i mentioned. also Practical Reverse Engineering's a book you can read. there's also another one i have but forget. Reverse engineering is used to find 0-day vulnerabilities (vulnerabilities in the software that can be exploited, and have not been patched and are unknown), and 0-days are very, very powerful. Also there's a book about fuzzing from 2007 you might want later on. And corelan.be & fuzzysecurity.com are good resources for the exploit portion of vuln-dev. it's also how programs are cracked tl;dr you can't * - Hoodie+ - Jul 19, 2015 If you want to know what it does for simple just download SandBoxie and run it in it. And than there's what PhantomElite said. * - supporter55 - Jul 19, 2015 A person reversed my code (So converted my file to code) i used smtp on it to send messages via my gmail account but then i got hacked and he changed my password , but luckily i could recover it so I am really obsessed with this , and I will figure out how to do it * - PhantomElite - Jul 19, 2015 "converted my file to code" it's not that simple and it doesn't really work like that. no offense intended at all, but no one affiliated with you knows jack shit about RE. and it's not something you just figure out how to do. unless you want to find vulnerabilities in shit it's probably not worth learning * - supporter55 - Jul 19, 2015 It is so worth it for me because in this way i can figure out how every program works * - Synthase - Jul 19, 2015 Have you attempted to run the file through Anubis? It analyzes program behavior and will spit out a report after running it for a while. I've used it to analyze suspicious bins before. * - supporter55 - Jul 19, 2015 Can you send me link to download the anubis , it might be able. * - Hoodie+ - Jul 19, 2015 (Jul 19, 2015 04:52 PM)supporter55 Wrote: Can you send me link to download the anubis , it might be able. https://anubis.iseclab.org * - PhantomElite - Jul 19, 2015 (Jul 19, 2015 04:49 PM)supporter55 Wrote: It is so worth it for me because in this way i can figure out how every program works RE is extremely time consuming. really fucking time consuming. even if you're good. * - NoMemes - Jul 19, 2015 You could try using a decompiler. If the code is encrypted though.. good luck. * - supporter55 - Jul 19, 2015 I still cannot find a solution , anubis did not take me to solution. Please help me. |
