VB Using Media Player to play .mp4 - Wide Awake - Jul 27, 2015 So i have the windows media player component already in there. I want button 1 to play a .mp4 from a website, not a file path. i have this: AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.URL = "www.website.com/movie.mp4" But it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? * - Sleeping With Sirens - Jul 27, 2015 if anything, download the file from the website into a temp directory using a WebClient and play it from that temporary directory you've just placed it in. If you're trying to make something like Pandora or something, this will be inefficient, but if you just need one or two files, this should work. * - Wide Awake - Jul 27, 2015 (Jul 27, 2015 04:51 PM)Sleeping With Sirens Wrote: if anything, download the file from the website into a temp directory using a WebClient and play it from that temporary directory you've just placed it in. That's actually what i want to avoid. Downloading anything. I just want it to stream. * - Sleeping With Sirens - Jul 27, 2015 (Jul 27, 2015 04:53 PM)skate101 Wrote: That's actually what i want to avoid. Downloading anything. I just want it to stream. Mind posting your entire method for accomplishing this? (the code for the method / void, whatever you want to call it). * - Wide Awake - Jul 27, 2015 (Jul 27, 2015 04:55 PM)Sleeping With Sirens Wrote: Mind posting your entire method for accomplishing this? Lets say the link is this http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/videos/wise/20120608/wise20120608-1280.m4v edit: Hmm it seems to work well with the .m4v link above. But a .mp4 wont work. I wonder because if the component is old and outdated? Perhaps using VLC component would do the trick? If so.. would that person need to have vlc installed to actually play the video file? * - Odus - Jul 27, 2015 (Jul 27, 2015 05:41 PM)skate101 Wrote: edit: Hmm it seems to work well with the .m4v link above.
