"Free Phone Service" - $25 activation fee ("TMobile network") - artar - Jul 29, 2015

Somebody told me about this phone service where you pay a $25 activation fee for their sim card and then get free phone service "for life". I'm guessing they mean lifetime of the device.

their website is smartmarkphones .net I tried to do some research and couldn't find much online aside from their own websites. Could be interesting.
I was in a local cell phone spot and they told me about it.
bought a cheap unlocked phone for it, they told me come back tomorrow to pick it up so we'll see

if anybody's interested I will post a review and details when I get it

Seems rather shifty, and their website is poory done.
Use with caution.

Looks like this is a case of "Sounds to good to be true"

I'd stay away, however I'd like to see if there are any vouches for this site anywhere

If you really want a free US number just use the freedompop app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.freedompop.ott&hl=en

or just get any regular sprint smart phone and activate on freedom pop for free service. Wouldn't trust this so called website you posted.

Read the terms of service, OP...

Quote:The following terms and conditions...will govern your continuation in the Smart Mark Survey Program. You will be required to complete the Smart Mark Survey Program application online. Demographic information contained in your application will be shared with advertisers. Your Social Security Number will not be shared but will be used to verify identity.

For approved applicants...you [must] comply with the Terms and Conditions and all other requirements of the Smart Mark Survey Program.

If for any reason you cancel or services are terminated, you are to pay a flat fee of $500.00 due at cancellation/termination unless cell phone/devices property and equipment that is FREE is returned within the first 30 days.

You'll only be able to cancel in the first 30 days, which is silly because you won't know how the service is. You're also required to do daily tasks.

Legit or not T-Mobile's network outside of the city is fucking cancer

Okay, I picked up my phone from the store this morning and it is indeed 4G service. They promise up unlimited talk, text, and up to 1 gig data throttled. I didn't give them my name, address, or credit card number. and the activation fee was $100. I called the company to ask and they said that is the normal price when you buy from a dealer. There is no contract, I paid cash, and the portions of the website about termination fees and all that are only if you lease a phone from them. If you come with your own device you just need their sim (its an At&T sim)

Yes, there are countless apps to get you a US number, but apps like that only work over Wifi or an existing mobile network connection. The thing I am discussing is much different. They are providing the mobile connection. Essentially I have a data connection and mobile connection for free after activating, so long as I continue to give them the survey clicks they use for marketing data. You have 3 days to answer them before they shut off your service.

Read them more closely. The portions about social security number and early termination apply to people getting "free" equipment from them. Just like how AT&T used to be. If you bring your own device what would they charge you for? You're not signing any contract for this

Literally the most accurate thing I have ever read about T-Mobile.

T-mobile really isn't that bad just as good as Sprint

probably only verizon or maybe at&t is better

I don't know where you live but T-Mobile barely fails me and pulls through whenever my friends phones can't.

Just look into republic wireless. $10 month for unlimited text and call.

* - rgveldy12 - Aug 12, 2015

There are things like freedompop that do this but they are supported by paying customers and phone sales. I would be wary of the sim card you put in.
