Disabling Cortana forever >_> - OG_Breezy - Aug 2, 2015

I have no use for this program & I don't like the thought of my voice being used in an app, produced by MS, especially with these Windows 10 privacy settings. Would anyone happen to know of a way to disable it's background running process/disable it altogether? I already tried this myself, but I failed horribly, & had to reset.
Process: https://imgur.com/gyK6EY2 ending it doesn't work :c

I've had good experience with Cortana so far.

How do you expect Cortana to cater to you if she can't get to know you? Siri does the same stuff!!

You can't that background process will run forever. RIP. One of the reasons why I reverted.

AFAIK you can only have Cortana disabled in privacy settings, but the background process will still run. I read somewhere (no idea if this is true or not) that messing with the registry to disable Cortana entirely had effected the abilities of the start menu.

that's what happened to me. I wasn't able to use the search bar/search in the start menu at all. Win. + s & the magnifying glass on taskbar didn't work, forcing me to reset windows

Just leave it then, as long as it's disabled in the settings it shouldn't bother you. I've had it disabled since I installed Windows 10 and the background process only uses 45MB of my available RAM.
