At the moment when someone votes in your poll you don't know someone has voted unless you check the thread manually and view the results. Possibly someone way to show a new vote in your poll would be convenient (like the "New Posts" for threads). However, these feature could possibly only be for the creator to see and it would not the thread once a new vote was received. Could possibly be a small notification on the thread icon.
Another idea is that the results from a poll could be displayed automatically before voting in a poll without clicking "Show Results".

Yeah... The numbers are off anyway, and counting them correctly requires editing of the core files if I recall correctly. I don't think it would be that difficult to make it show the wrong numbers without clicking view results.
