Laptop not booting correctly - Lil Bibby - Aug 24, 2015 Recently out of no where my laptop will not boot up correctly, it asks to start in a windows startup repair mode but once in that it shows nothing. Then if started normally it will blue screen and restart to fast for me to get the error. Any help is greatly appreciated * - archangel.dmitry - Aug 24, 2015 You need to get BSoD code(s) for that you can use a camera in video mode. * - Lil Bibby - Aug 24, 2015 (Aug 24, 2015 01:19 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: You need to get BSoD code(s) for that you can use a camera in video mode. Alright I did that an am getting "Mountable_Boot_Volume" I'm gonna try re sitting the ram and everything unless there's another solution EDIT re sitting ram and hdd did absolutely nothing. * - archangel.dmitry - Aug 24, 2015 It could be a lot of things. Start with running Memtest. If it passes, run "chkdsk" to check condition of the disk. * - Lil Bibby - Aug 24, 2015 (Aug 24, 2015 01:45 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: It could be a lot of things. I'm not sure how to start with memtest due to it not being able to start at all and I'm on my phone atm * - archangel.dmitry - Aug 24, 2015 You will have to download Memtest ISO and put it on an USB or CD. It does not require Windows. You should be able to start "chkdsk" from the recovery menu. * - Lil Bibby - Aug 24, 2015 (Aug 24, 2015 01:56 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: You will have to download Memtest ISO and put it on an USB or CD. I don't have any other pc in my house so I guess I'll have to wait till the weekend to do anything. * - Breeze26509 - Aug 24, 2015 (Aug 24, 2015 01:58 PM)Lil Bibby Wrote: I don't have any other pc in my house so I guess I'll have to wait till the weekend to do anything. Is there a public library near you or a friend that will let you use their PC to download the ISO? * - Lil Bibby - Aug 24, 2015 (Aug 24, 2015 02:02 PM)Breeze26509 Wrote: Is there a public library near you or a friend that will let you use their PC to download the ISO? The earliest I would be able to download the ISO is probably tomorrow night. I'll update thread once I've done the memtest ISO * - freemium - Aug 25, 2015 If you have a Hiren's Boot DVD, try using Paragon HDM - in there you will have boot corrector, mbr fix and some other things... Now just give boot corrector a try...hopefully it will fix it :) good luck * - Lil Bibby - Aug 25, 2015 Update I downloaded and ran the Memtest Iso and it told me there were no errors detected, yet I'm still unable to boot up and if I start in Recovery Mode nothing shows up on the screen. * - Lil Bibby - Aug 28, 2015 Anyone know what the problem could be? Still haven't found anything out. * - archangel.dmitry - Aug 28, 2015 Have you tested your HDD for errors including bad sectors? * - Lil Bibby - Aug 28, 2015 (Aug 28, 2015 02:49 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: Have you tested your HDD for errors including bad sectors? Then booting your computer off of it. |
