Need advice bypassing ports/firewall on network - Arestheoctopus - Sep 2, 2015 I still live at home and I'm on my dads network. He's really tight on security and he runs "checkpoint" firewall on the network and also has other security implemented on his network to stop and security risks coming onto the network. I need to get into UDP 27015-28999 and possibly find a method to access other ports I may need in the future. VPN's and anonymizers worked for a while until he blocked them from the network so now I'm looking at possibly using an SSH tunnel through puTTY or something. The truth is though I need some advice, I don't thoroughly know which direction to go in with this but I really want to be able to bypass the security on my dads network and obtain freedom on the internet. It's so frustrating to have a lot of services I enjoyed blocked. * - roleeswagger - Sep 2, 2015 What kind of firewall? built-in the router or he setup one.. a quick tip: try to use different ip addresess some firewalls works on an ip range .. use manual ip config and get your dads ip(when he is offline) and see if you still blocked * - Arestheoctopus - Sep 2, 2015 (Sep 2, 2015 03:54 PM)S4mick Wrote: What kind of firewall? built-in the router or he setup one.. a quick tip: try to use different ip addresess some firewalls works on an ip range .. use manual ip config and get your dads ip(when he is offline) and see if you still blocked I did try to set the IPV4 adress to .12 on the end earlier instead of .8 and it said another network was connected by this IP. Also I tried some other ones and they seem to have different restrictions applied to them, for example on another IP i connected on i was unable to use web browsers. It's a checkpoint box connected to the router that filters traffic I think, there's also software that configures the firewall and sets restrictions for certain adresses. I don't understand what you mean by Quote:use manual ip config and get your dads ip(when he is offline) and see if you still blocked do you mean on his computer? because I don't have access to his computer. * - roleeswagger - Sep 2, 2015 i mean try to get his ip address... set it as yours and see if there are restrictions.. if not you have to find addresses that aren't on the firewall block list and use them * - Arestheoctopus - Sep 2, 2015 (Sep 2, 2015 04:06 PM)S4mick Wrote: i mean try to get his ip address... set it as yours and see if there are restrictions.. if not you have to find addresses that aren't on the firewall block list and use them I know there are restrictions cause I saw on his firewall settings there are 3 set addresses, the TV, his laptop and my computer. Actually he uses and ethernet cable to connect to his laptop, everything else is wireless so that might mean these restrictions only apply to wireless hardware. Also he has tried to block all UDP connections, I know that the ports I need wont work on any adress I use because they are for gaming and other things I use, because he doesn't need them he will have closed them. * - Sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ Rᴇᴀʟᴍ - Sep 2, 2015 I think your full of shit and your just trying to get past your work firewall * - Arestheoctopus - Sep 2, 2015 (Sep 2, 2015 04:58 PM)Sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ Rᴇᴀʟᴍ Wrote: I think your full of shit and your just trying to get past your work firewall Well okay is that what you think? I'm not. * - Arestheoctopus - Sep 2, 2015 (Sep 2, 2015 05:19 PM)Sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ Rᴇᴀʟᴍ Wrote: Apparently your a grown ass man so go and ask him to take it off you fucking retard I'm not fully grown I'm 17 years old. * - Arestheoctopus - Sep 15, 2015 (Sep 2, 2015 04:06 PM)S4mick Wrote: i mean try to get his ip address... set it as yours and see if there are restrictions.. if not you have to find addresses that aren't on the firewall block list and use them Your comment was helpful in the end so thanks. I managed to bypass the network security by changing my IP and then using Tor. |
