Is SmartAssembly 6 Hack-able or crackable...?? - backtrack - Sep 5, 2015

can anyone bypass Smart Assembly 6 and get source code of protected application? How safe is Smart Assembly 6 Really? is there any other protector better than Smart Assembly 6 in protecting & Why?

Yes, obfuscators are not 100% secure.

This one is very easily deobed... as well... many anti-virus have started detecting it's obfusucated items.

SmartAssembly is great if you just want to prevent your code from being easily readable. However, I have noticed that sometimes it's renaming feature will screw up strings which is really annoying (this is probably resolved if you use string encoding). If you want to prevent your tool from being decompiled though, you'll need to find another solution.

You can mix it with other obfuscators like confuserex or dotfuscator, and it will be good.

No, I can unpack it in 5 minutes.
Your best choices are:

AppFuscator
ConfuserEX

And even those aren't really amazing anymore.

Do you recommend mixing any of those together to make it a bit harder?

I doubt that would help, probably make it worse.
Use confuserEx and modify it (its opensource).

You can't mix them, I've tried.
AppFuscator is the most out of them both.

Yeah, I guess so. I mean, mixing different tools shouldn't mess with it unless you're downloading strings from a specific link. Sometimes it messes with that just from self experience. Usually when you use a packer in ConfuserEx.

You can actually combine 2 different protections from different obfuscators. For example, control flow from CryptoObfuscator and string encryptor from Confuser. Keep trying until you get the working combination.

If you want a reliable, secure solution, use something private or unknown. I can recommend my own solution, if you dont want to spend money, modding confuserex is your best solution

Either mod confuserex or move code server sided.
