Reliable method of acquiring BTC in NYS? - milkywayz - Oct 13, 2015 So I did a quick search on the forums and couldn't find any threads regarding the Bitlicense except one from 2014. Basically most online trading sites (at least afaik) block NYS residents based on IP and the information you provide somewhere along the line (bank, billing, etc). I used to use Virwox until they stopped serving NY residents. My account is still active I believe, but I tried to use a VPN and for some odd reason couldnt get by the security feature despite doing it correctly. I recently moved to Rochester and there is but a single trader on LocalBitcoins even remotely close, with trade minimums of 500. A long while ago I used to do straight PP to BTC with people here but a lot of people are hesitant due to the charge back potential. I understand WU is an option, but it definitely not preferred unless there's a trusted middleman. tl;dr: Need relatively easy way of converting USD to BTC w/o regulatory BS. I don't want to make new accounts on websites that want photos of my license and social security like Circle does. Quite frankly that's some horses**t. I don't really care about fees unless it's > 15% and preferably trade amounts of 50-200 a time. * - Web-Weave - Oct 13, 2015 Check out the HF currency exchange section. * - .Cynical. - Oct 14, 2015 I buy from https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4490979 I have done many exchanges and there are never any problems * - Blakee - Oct 14, 2015 I'd recommend buying from one us exchangers. |
