How to disable a Detex door alarm? - crashandburn90 - Nov 10, 2015 I am curious if anyone can help me figure out how to possibly demagnetize a Detex EAX-500 door alarm. It is a battery power alarm with the base attached to a door and magnet to sense whether the door has been opened to help trip the alarm. Any ideas on ways to either disable it or get around it? Specs on alarm; 9VDC battery powering system has an automatic bypass which allows alarm to rearm by itself. 100 db alarm * - Kumara - Nov 10, 2015 Have you tried turning it off? Have you tried placing a pillow or two on top of the alarm so no one can hear it? Unplugging the battery? Have you tried placing a magnet on it when you open the door? * - crashandburn90 - Nov 10, 2015 The battery is inside of a casing, which is locked by a 7-pin master look. Cameras watch the actual alarm itself. SO the first 3 tips are not going to get me very far. The fourth one is what i am interested in. What is the best to go with a magnet? Would it be to have something strong enough to sort of demagnetize the sensor inside? or just to keep there as a replacement for the stationary magnet mounted to the door frame? * - Kumara - Nov 10, 2015 (Nov 10, 2015 11:52 PM)crashandburn90 Wrote: The battery is inside of a casing, which is locked by a 7-pin master look. You want a decent magnet, enough to disrupt the sensor fields, but not enough to demagnetize them. You also want the alarm to think it's connected to the door, but in reality the disruption of the fake magnet is causing it to 'hallucinate'. * - crashandburn90 - Nov 11, 2015 What size kind of magnet would you recommend? and what if i did demagnetize the actual alarm? * - Kumara - Nov 11, 2015 (Nov 11, 2015 12:00 AM)crashandburn90 Wrote: What size kind of magnet would you recommend? and what if i did demagnetize the actual alarm? No idea, on the size. You could possibly break the alarm, if you did that :P * - crashandburn90 - Nov 11, 2015 Well permanently disabling the alarm wouldn't be the worst thing in my world. Would a strong enough magnet disrupt the sensor field? * - DaRkReD - Nov 11, 2015 (Nov 11, 2015 12:00 AM)crashandburn90 Wrote: What size kind of magnet would you recommend? and what if i did demagnetize the actual alarm? Your best bet would be buying one of the alarms so you have the exact magnet. Secure it with tape so it doesnt fall off * - ÇƌƞîŞ Ŀǚƿȋֆ - Nov 27, 2015 I install these, if you need the magnet or the keys pm me. * - wooot - Dec 18, 2015 You want us to help rob the family next door? Alright do this: 1) Smash the bloody thing with a sledge hammer, it won't even think about rearming itself after that! 2) Have cash so you can bribe cops or judge if you get caught. 3) Break in at a good time, google "good times to rob a house". 4) Wear gloves and a ski mask. 5) Don't hurt anyone, don't bring weapons, only pepper spray, stay safe, safety is most important, make sure you have no regrets 6) Have fun! Remember, burglary is a recreational activity and should be enjoyed by those taking part! * - J_stone2525 - Sep 19, 2017 A thin magnet might work. Dint know if im doin this rught but how much would u charge for a key an r they universal RE: How to disable a Detex door alarm? - niftysquid - Dec 15, 2019 what frequency dose it use to transmit ? i think i found what alarm our on about .. have you tried to use transmitter that uses consumer frequencies like if you find what frequency that alarm is using you can just get cheap walkie talky that is transmitting same frequency but with stronger output . like if you know simplysafe they are super unsafe if you want to bypass simply safe home security all you need is 2 dollar transmitter .. if you go on youtube and find channel called lock picking lawyer he made video about it .. id say you could use similar attack on your alarm ;) oh i just looke in to it and as far as i understand it is just operated by key .. why just not try to pick it ? or try magnet ? can you get accses to lock and everything ? like are you inside of the door or outside ? and is unit mounted on wall or its mounted on door right next to sensors ? RE: How to disable a Detex door alarm? - ÇƌƞîŞ Ŀǚƿȋֆ - Dec 15, 2019 They are magnet operated. Any light magnet will disable them and as for the keys there are 20 available. You can go to a lock shop and they will cut them for about 15$ or you could pick them with absolutely no skills. RE: How to disable a Detex door alarm? - samsam15 - Jun 3, 2020 estos sensores trabajan con una frecuencia , si tienes un bloqueador de la misma frecuencia , puedes lograrlo . |
