Speaker static sound when my sound is turned off - Kutt - Nov 26, 2015

My speakers give off a static sound when all sound on my computer is turned off.

Could this be sings of malware?

Also, not too long ago I had to have my computer serviced and I believe my audio is running from the integrated sound card on my graphics card and not my motherboard.

How do I switch back to the integrated APU on my motherboard?

This sometimes happens with certain type of speakers as I have had it happen to me before. So I am pretty certain it isn't malware that is causing it.

Are you able to turn the sound down on your speakers?

This usually happens to my headphones when no sound has played on them for a while. Does the static go away once sound starts playing?

It only happens when my sound is turned completely off.

About a year ago I had my computer serviced and I believe my sound is running off of my GPU onboard audio and not my motherboard's "realtek" APU.

How do I change this?

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it, it's just something that happens to playback devices after they've been used for a while. How long have you had them? All I can say is that you're definitely not infected.
