Fake a Proof Sign (For Dummies!)

I'm sure there are tutorials on here for this, but I've never seen it done this way.
This way takes just 3 minutes, is super simple, and provides more realistic results.

What You'll Need

• Photoshop
  
• Smartphone
  
• Writing Utensil
  
• White Paper
  
• Usable Photo
  

How It Works

• Using white paper, legibly write whatever it is you plan to put on your proof sign.
  
• Download a scanner app. IOS: iScanner / Android: CamScanner. There are plenty of others.
  
• Open the scanner app and follow the directions. They are extremely easy to follow.
  
• Make adjustments to the settings until they look most realistic and email yourself the result.
  
• Open the image that you want to use in PS. Edit away the text that's most likely there.
  To do this, select the existing text like this. Right click >> Fill >> Content Aware.
  
• After the original text is gone, open the "scan" that you emailed to yourself.
  
• Select the text in the "scan" that you want to use. Paste it onto the photo.
  
• Once it's pasted, adjust the layer settings to look like this and you're done!

Anyone can do this! Let's hope that we stop seeing so many "HELP! PHOTOSHOP THIS!" threads!

Spoiler (Click to View) I used default settings, didn't edit anything. This is just a 3 minute tutorial for "dummies".
Various settings/tools can be used to make this look more realistic. You can fool around
with the opacity settings, sharpness, perspective, etc. You can even edit on the scan apps to
make the text look more realistic and less sharp/deep. PM for more help if needed!
