Investing After The New Year - Natalie Dormerr - Dec 17, 2015

So I made a new years resolution to my self and it is to invest in the stock market, weather its Forex, stocks, options, bonds, penny stocks etc. Just make a investment. I have a life goal of making 1,000,000$ Yeah I know its a big goal but its something that is possible with the opportunities we have today to make money. My questions are for some of you experienced brokers/investors
1. How should I prepare myself?
2. How much time should I spend researching
3. Is eTrade a good place to start investing (like valid chart data etc)
4. Should I look for some online courses or even at my community college on investing?
5. What should I research?
I have I think around 10k$ from what my great aunt left me for school and financials. I hear Kroger is a great stock right now (Ironic because I work at Kroger currently) but yeah, I know there are some stocks to stay away from like Apple.

Get in before the new year $SUNE is about to explode way undervalued could see 5x returns if it gets back to the 52 week high... Solar is huge right now and only going to get bigger

1. Practice with a trading simulator like this one
http://www.marketwatch.com/game/

Use only 10k on it since you will be using 10k in real life. Try as hard as you can to do plays you would in real life. Follow multiple stocks for a few weeks before buying them. Surf the web for good stocks.

2. Only buy stocks that have a nice upside to them. Meaning they were once high and dropped, so getting back to the top might not be so hard. Once you see a stock like that, research a ton to see why it dropped and decide if it can get back to the top easily.

3. AmeriTrade is better for charts, has one of the best platforms.

4. Good online class here, it's a bunch of reading but extremely easy to understand.

5. Solar is the new crazy right now. SUNE is riskier with a ton of upside, you can 4x to 6x your money with the right news. SCTY is much safer and you can still make around 25% on it.

Reddit has a huge investor community. /r/investing sucks though. /r/stocks is nice and you can find some gems in /r/wallstreetbets
Stocktwits.com is really good to see the overall sentiment. Take everything with a grain of salt, everyone is just human and no one person
can predict everything that's going to happen.
