Wanna know what the odds are for a season 2, I heard the light novel was usually in top 8 most sold LNs of the week while it was airing, 6k+ sales in average per week, not sure if that's relevant?

i am actually an idiot as i bought the monogatari Light novels which were in Japanese ....
so about Rakidai LNs , they were also pretty famous ...i have read FAN translated version......
its pretty good and has much more romance and drama unlike anime....
it was average ....they had enough sales to make a second season.

They have enough sales, they might make a 2nd season but highly unlikely because of how it ended.
Also if you wanted to look at the seven swords arc on season 2, it will be a really tight fit in 12 eps because there's another arc in between.

I actually thought the ending made it fitting for a season 2? Since the 7 star festival still isn't over and it shows that guy with super reflexes watching the match

He won't really matter IMO. I do hope they make a season 2 though.
