Will I get in legal trouble if I report this to my school? - Comprogger - Dec 26, 2015 I found serious XSS and SQL vulnerabilities in my school's website. Will they call the cops if I tell them? * - Nachfolger - Dec 26, 2015 Probably not. They would be biting themselves in the butt. However, if you have messed around with the website, they might. * - BTB™ - Dec 26, 2015 (Dec 26, 2015 09:15 AM)Nachfolger Wrote: Probably not. They would be biting themselves in the butt. However, if you have messed around with the website, they might. Exactly! Further I would add, it also depends on the management of your school. * - TheUnknownPlague - Dec 26, 2015 they wont tell the cops unless you use the exploit for malicious reasons * - william - Dec 26, 2015 I'd say just don't mess with it. You could probably get rewarded for reporting it to them, haha * - Mons - Dec 26, 2015 That's what happens when they hire skids that studied 3 year informatics at college for IT management at their school. * - Oosjka - Dec 26, 2015 As others have said as long as you have not used them in any other way besides identifying the vulnerabilities and immediately report it you should have no problems. Just remember you do NOT want to be caught exploiting these. Depending on what you do, you can be expelled, suspended, and have all technology privileges revoked which most likely will entail you not even being able to use a mobile device on school grounds. * - hellagain - Dec 26, 2015 (Dec 26, 2015 09:35 AM)Mons Wrote: That's what happens when they hire skids that studied 3 year informatics at college for IT management at their school. spot on, you gotta love it * - Varane - Dec 26, 2015 You could possibly even get rewarded, to get in legal trouble would be to exploit these vulnerabilities. * - ๖ۣۜAlexander - Dec 26, 2015 the long cock of law will go in dry without a condom. * - SIM-1169085 - Dec 26, 2015 Just don't report them man just in case. It's not worth getting in trouble and who really cares if it's reported or not it has nothing to do with you. * - Hypnotist - Dec 26, 2015 Don't be a do-gooder. You never know, your teacher could want to see you rot in prison for hacking school properties! * - Sevn Alias - Dec 26, 2015 Don't report it. My teachers wanted to call the police because i found a XSS too. * - +Blitzed - Dec 26, 2015 some kid reported vulns to my old school and they suspended him. I wouldn't risk it. |
