Using the old version of kik with fake camera works, but using a modded kik is easier and they often have more features than just the fake camera. Most modded kiks have their own delvik environment so you can install them along side each other.
Pikik was the original modded kik but it's starting to get a little outdated, you can get it here: getpikik2.x10host.com
Matrik is also a great mod and is still under active development, unlike most others. You can get it here: matrik.org
