Installation Error - Union - Feb 6, 2016 For some reason, The installer is saying that the /cache directory and the /inc/config.php file isn't writeable but I know I've did everything write because the other directories I chmod'd is writeable and working as you see in the images. I have deleted everything and started again and still the same issue. Any help? ![]() ![]()
* - Mr. Money™ - Feb 6, 2016 Try checking if your config file is corrupt in some way. This may cause the issue. and try to chmod from your normal file manager in your cpanel sometimes the changes in the ftp client do not come through properly. * - Union - Feb 6, 2016 (Feb 6, 2016 10:26 AM)Reddington™ Wrote: Try checking if your config file is corrupt in some way. I don't use a cpanel, I use Nginx as a reverse proxy and using Apache for dynamic content, I also went to SSH/Putty and did this. Also the config file is empty in the official download from mybb. so i doubt its corrupt. * - bass booster - Feb 6, 2016 This happened to me before. Delete the config.php and make a new one. Try and reinstall it then -> if it doesn't work still, download the file and chmod it from there if possible. If that failed, PM me, I'll chmod one for you that I know works from my linux host * - Union - Feb 6, 2016 (Feb 6, 2016 11:53 AM)bass booster Wrote: This happened to me before. I'll pm you about the linux host one. * - Can - Feb 7, 2016 Are you using the latest MyBB 1.8.6 files? * - bass booster - Feb 7, 2016 Haha I just remembered, filezilla doesn't always write the chmod option. Go to your host cpanel look for file manager, right click that file/folder and look for chmod. It just hit me when I looked at your pictures that filezilla fucks up on the chmod 99% of the time * - Wires - Feb 7, 2016 (Feb 7, 2016 10:34 AM)bass booster Wrote: Haha I just remembered, filezilla doesn't always write the chmod option. This. Unless you imported the MyBB files via Filezilla, it won't allow you to write the correct permissions. All MyBB files can be attained by their Github. * - Union - Feb 8, 2016 Going to close this thread, I got it fixed. I decided to just downgrade CentOS to 6.6 and use Nginx as a reverse proxy with SSL and use Apache for Dynamic content, Everything is working out thus far, Thanks everyone for the attempts at helping! |
