DIY/Guides/Tutorials Section - Duyere - Feb 12, 2016 The title basically explains itself but I think it would be nice to have some sort of do it yourself/guides/tutorial section with some sort of prerequisites like the SRPP section. I'm sure this has been denied countless times but I really think it would be nice to have this kind of section. A section where you could post non-hacking/moneymaking related guides/tutorials. I've seen a lot of good posts in The Lounge over the three years that I've been here. And if you didn't personally follow those threads then they often get lost in The Lounge forever. I just think it would be nice to have a section in which people make contributions to the site besides hacking/marketing. I'm sure the argument is that this section would be inactive due to their not being many guide/tutorial based posts, but everything starts somewhere. I'm sure people will inevitably make more guides in a relatable section than a section where shitposters hangout. * - VirtualFrost - Feb 12, 2016 I don't think we'd need a section, just put them in their already appropriate sections if I'm understanding this correctly. Moneymaking related guides/tutorials can just be made as eBooks as they are now and put under the Free eBook section, or post a tutorials inside it's correct section. * - Duyere - Feb 13, 2016 (Feb 12, 2016 11:51 PM)VirtualFrost Wrote: I don't think we'd need a section, just put them in their already appropriate sections if I'm understanding this correctly. You might have misinterpreted my post. This is guides/tutorials on everything besides hacking/moneymaking. It would not be appropriate to correlate general life guides/tutorials (just an example, not limited to) with moneymaking or hacking. * - VirtualFrost - Feb 13, 2016 (Feb 13, 2016 12:21 AM)Battousai the Manslayer Wrote: You might have misinterpreted my post. I still don't quite get what would go in there except literally 'DIY Building Projects'. This forum has a lot of topics that it covers, I'm not quite sure about anything else that's yet to be added that's popular enough for a section. Most sections only come in if there are already a lot of threads/a topic that's popular most of the time. So far I cannot see this happening. * - Lakica - Feb 13, 2016 Yeah this would be a great side forum. People showing off homemade stuff... And DIY projects that don't have to be virtual.. * - minimalist - Feb 13, 2016 Electrical DIY projects may go in here: IoT, Embedded Systems, Electronics, Gadgets, and DIY Woodworking/metal fabrication/real-life applications may go elsewhere, such as reddit.com/r/diy. I'd love a section for it, but there just wouldn't be enough activity. |
