HTML and CSS beginner question! - ThaiboyDigital - Feb 15, 2016 Im a beginner in this, and i really enjoy programming. But there is one problem, that is whenever i try to make my CSS design it wont fit the site of the size. Example: gyazo.com/2d9072db771351449b71624f1a6bc41b Can you guys help me? * - D3xus - Feb 15, 2016 Can you post some of your code here for us to look at? It might be a bad CSS value for margin or height. * - Spencer Reid - Feb 16, 2016 Following here just incase I encounter the same issue. * - VirtualFrost - Feb 16, 2016 It looks like you're putting the whole site in a wrapper which is margined to sit in the center and the height has been manually set. * - ThaiboyDigital - Feb 16, 2016 (Feb 16, 2016 03:28 AM)VirtualFrost Wrote: It looks like you're putting the whole site in a wrapper which is margined to sit in the center and the height has been manually set. How do i fix this? gyazo.com/678f98c7a453ac8442841fec4827fa6f gyazo.com/b7ecf41db98eccc483c83298a90910b7 * - Hash G. - Feb 16, 2016 Your container have a defined width and a margin-left/right set on auto thus it'll automatically be centered on your screen if that was what you mean by "it wont fit the site of the size". * - VirtualFrost - Feb 16, 2016 What Hash G. said, because everything is inside the container, it'll resize and fit inside the container size (being 800px). If you want the nav bars to stretch out but keep the text and content in the middle, the margin-left and right should be placed inside a wrapper div. Try creating another div with the id wrapper and put it after container, see how that goes. Try also getting rid of the width inside the container. I'm not to sure about what I've said but let me know. |
