[Illustrator] Working on my pen tool ~ - Intern - Feb 22, 2016

So , to sum up this story. I'm learning illustrator and trying to get better at the pen tool..
some say recreating logo's ( by tracing) is a good way to learn the tool.

So I tried to do the Nike Logo ✌.

My first step was to basically trace over the nike logo.. which at first I thought it
was going to be an easy task 😵 (turns out it wasn't)

Pen tool, a classic.
Probably going to invest in a graphics tablet over the summer to improve my work in Illustrator.

Are you planning on creating logos in the future?
& Why aren't you using the pen tool in Photoshop?

Well you never know when a client might want a logo done , and for vectors ; illustrator is the go to 🤗 . I just pretty much wanted vectors so I'm not using photoshop for this one

Thanks man , turns out Nikes logo is actually tons of circles cut up. I asked the lead designer at my job.

But it has straight lines in it? Maybe he meant without the tail?

Well the two lines at the bottom which lead into a point that's prob done with the pen tool, but otherwise I can see those curves being done with circles ; prob a little bit easier than the pen tool, depending on one's skill level.
