Corrupt HDD Question - MrJamieMcC - Feb 29, 2016 I have a corrupt sector HDD but im not sure what to do with it via testing. I have my new HDD and my PC works fine. Do i just wire up my internall corrupt HDD (there is additional space for it) and my PC will still boot fine from the working HDD and then the corrupt HDD should just be seen in the "My Computer" tab and there i can view its settings and stuff Thanks * - archangel.dmitry - Feb 29, 2016 Use chkdsk with bad sector recovery option. If it cannot be recovered, it will be marked as accessible. It will prevent OS to save anything in that sector. Usually, when bad sectors appear, life of drive becomes unknown, meaning, it can fail any moment or it is going to work months. |
