What route to take for Bot Automation and Web automation? - Nopee - Feb 29, 2016 In terms of bot automation. Creating an account management tool for social media and a data scraper. For Web automation some scripts on websites to exploit loopholes. from using the social media buttons and etc. What route should i take in terms of programming. C# + Javascript? Or if you guys got a better idea do let me know. * - Seraum - Feb 29, 2016 Perfect tools are nightmare.js or casper.js + a vps You should only JS for that If you want I can give you some examples for login to twitter and post a tweet, ot get world trends etc * - Nopee - Feb 29, 2016 (Feb 29, 2016 12:16 PM)Seraum Wrote: Perfect tools are nightmare.js or casper.js + a vps So i should just go directly to the js route ? An example of a script that i use for social media is. it hides the social media button of the site and embeds it into the pop up in which when it closes it will jack the user. * - Seraum - Mar 1, 2016 (Feb 29, 2016 03:43 PM)TR4D3 Wrote: So i should just go directly to the js route ? It's the fastest way Run nightmare.js with "show:true" as in this example for browsing Yahoo search : Code var Nightmare = require('nightmare');Replace Yahoo by your website * - Unknown - Mar 1, 2016 From what I understand, JS and C# are both great languages for something like this. I'm a bit biased towards C#, but I completely agree with what Seraum was saying. You could probably use either language as a stand-alone for this project and JS may be better for this type of thing. At the end of the day its all about what you feel comfortable with. * - +Haze - Mar 1, 2016 I'd side with Cynn. and say C# & VB.NET are good language for bots. Like a really good languages. Java is good too. * - ntsbmvnk - Mar 1, 2016 Selenium with Java or Python bindings is a good shout. Used it previously for some automated testing work. * - Nopee - Mar 2, 2016 (Feb 29, 2016 12:16 PM)Seraum Wrote: Perfect tools are nightmare.js or casper.js + a vps That would be great. Do i need to study javascript to use these 2 platforms or just a little research would work? I am fascinated with the resources that you gave would like to know more info. * - Seraum - Mar 2, 2016 Nightmare is really well documented and easy to use : www.nightmarejs.org . I prefere Nightmare rather than Casper because of Elecron browser instead of phantom for casper You could read that for start with js/nodejs : http://vaaiibhav.me/category/tuts/code/node-js/ * - Nopee - Mar 2, 2016 (Mar 2, 2016 09:46 AM)Seraum Wrote: Nightmare is really well documented and easy to use : www.nightmarejs.org . Reading about node js right now still don't know how to use the nightmare platform as there are no guides. And i do appreciate you showing those things you mentioned above. And what's a good combo for a language good for automating bots? C# and javascript or vb.net and c#? * - Seraum - Mar 2, 2016 You can find Nighmare.js usage here : https://github.com/segmentio/nightmare#api or here : https://azurelogic.com/posts/web-scraping-with-nightmare-js/ C# and VB.net are based on the same techno : .net. So look each and choose which you prefer C# is a good langage, you can manipulate DOM of Internet Explorer with DLL injection for example. I've writen some code for that in C# for research purpose. Another good point for c# : Mono project for linux More info about js/nodejs : Windows as released an opensource js lib for webapp ui: WinJS. Good or not, JS will be everywhere. Windows as forked nodejs project for mobile and iot platforms tests. JXCore lets you code and "compile" for every platform (arm, mips, x86, x64, and soon power7 and 8...) JXCore embed 3 JS engine : Mozilla SpiderMonkey, Google V8, and now Microsoft Chakra. Chakra's got a complete interface for manipulate a windows system : Universal Windows Platform api. There is also some modules for enabling UWP api in nodejs : https://github.com/Microsoft/node-uwp So, look C#, vb.net and JS, and see which you prefer |
