MacBook Pro vs XPS 13. Help me choose - The Notorious B.I.G. - Mar 8, 2016

MacBook Pro vs XPS 13

I have narrowed it down to these two laptops for college.

Does anyone here have any experience with either one?

I'm using the XPS 13, great laptop and have no regrets. I'd choose it over a macbook any day.

* - Egregious - Mar 8, 2016

I'd take the XPS over the Mac any day.

What are the specs on the XPS 13 and the macbook you are looking at?

Also price differences? What do you plan on using them for? I know you said school but like.. for what?

It will mainly be for coding and design.

I wouldn't call Apple terrible. I am a big fan of their design and build quality.

I am using MacBOOK PRO and Enjoying. I prefer going with MAC.

My MBP was a gift from a family member three years ago and it's still running strong. Both are solid choices.

I have an XPS 17, and my god, I must've been unlucky, but it seems to always be breaking. If something goes wrong then have fun replacing it. Dell parts are not cheap!

everyone in my CS class used a MBP or air,
I work at an IT company and Dell is garbage IMO

I have a macbook, have had it for 2 years now, it was expensive as fuck, but if I could go back I'd buy it again

get a MBP, you wont regret it. Dell is garbage.

MBP is sexy asf
Made with higher quality parts
OSX GUI is sexy as fuck
You can use a VM for a windows machine (I use parallels, never had any compatibility problems EVER.)
with the MBP you'll get 2GB/s R/W speeds (Dell is barley pushing 500MB/s)
retina display is sexy asf
bitches love MBPs
Also, with a MBP you'll get double the ram it says because it will use virtual ram. I have 16GB and I can use 32GB
OSX is designed for apple hardware, producing performance that a windows machine will never be able to compete with

With that kind of money you can buy a kick ass maxxed out Macbook. I'd go with apple. You can never go wrong with long battery life and the elegance.

Yes ^^ and after 2 years with my MBP my battery health is still 94%, I can go a full day at work (8Hrs continuous use) without charging.

If I dumb down the brightness and backlit keyboard it will last longer, also I took my MBP on vacation with me, forgot the charger. Didn't need to charge it all week. granted I didn't use it too much BC vacation and stuff

Im leaning towards the MacBook. I am wondering is there an update coming out soon as the last update was a year ago.
