Virus Detection - Flinzy - Mar 8, 2016 Hi, Lately I've been trying out stuff in C# with WFA's and I've made something that I wanted to share with some people. Now, I found a .exe in the debug/release folder which contains the full program. But whenever I share this file through Drive/Dropbox/Gett/Puush/etc. to a person, he will get a lot of virus warnings from i.e. Google Chrome, Windows Defender and other anti-virus software. I understand that a naked .exe is an extreme 'red flag', so my question to you is, how do you share your projects without telling people to ignore 3 virus warnings :). Regards. * - GuRuHaX - Mar 9, 2016 Compress the exe into a zip / rar file.(password locked can be usefull) 🤝 * - MikaDev - Mar 9, 2016 Lol I'm wondering the same thing, really. I have an application that literally only makes a few webrequests and it still has like 9 VT detections.. Also, zipping it doesn't really solve the issue. If there's a virus scannwr installed on the downloader's PC, that will start complaining about detections as soon as you unzip the thing. * - Odus - Mar 9, 2016 Is the assembly obfuscated? That sets off a lot of AVs since idiots like to use them for their malware. * - Flinzy - Mar 9, 2016 (Mar 9, 2016 07:01 AM)Odus Wrote: Is the assembly obfuscated? Maybe my keyDown events trigger the AVs? * - GuRuHaX - Mar 9, 2016 What Av's are triggering? I have an exe that logs every key (with key up) and nothing is saying anything... What else is this app doing ? Going to special folders or anything with acces privileges? There must be something thats triggering it... Can be a false positive, AV may have found some chunk of code that matches a virus, and aren't smart enough to distinguish. I would suggest contacting the specific AV providers and getting them to whitelist you if your app is really clean that should not be a problem. You can always install the Av's that are complaining and check what part of your code the trigger on if your lucky you will be able to find something. 🤝 * - BahNahNah - Mar 9, 2016 Chrome detections are not always virus detections, it can be that you are downloading it from an untrusted website. Also, what detections are you getting? |
