Is it possible to load a custom iOS firmware onto an iPhone? - _Wozniak_ - Mar 20, 2016 I have searched up custom firmware, and it seems like there is some work on it, but does it require a jailbreak, or just some hacking around? I know you can flash with iTunes so I don't see an issue if I could write my own firm-flash tool, as long as it's signed. What are your inputs on this, and has anyone ever modified their firmware and what did they do? * - Anzee - Mar 20, 2016 Loading custom firmware was once considered the standard of iPhone jailbreaking. Look up the term "redsn0w" and continue from there. You can find tons of modded versions of iOS all over the web. * - _Wozniak_ - Mar 20, 2016 (Mar 20, 2016 05:17 AM)Anzee Wrote: Loading custom firmware was once considered the standard of iPhone jailbreaking. I know what redsn0w is, I was just a little curious, I mean I have never seen any hardcore modding of iOS (besides installing a few tweaks here or there) I am not an iOS/iDevice guy usually, so a lot of this is new info to me. |
