Photoshop Layer Styles in Illustrator? - UbZerv - Mar 22, 2016 I'm new to Illustrator so I don't know if there is a way to use PS layer styles, and I cant find anything through google searches other than graphic styles which seem to be completely separate things or tutorials on how to use them in Photoshop, which I already know how to do... Anyone know if there is a way to use .asl files in Illustrator? * - Sejskaler - Mar 22, 2016 Illustrator does not support the same kind of styles as photoshop. Since Illustrator is vector based, it doesn't have the same capabilities as photoshop in regards to the way gradients work etc. So basically, if you want them, you will have to make them from scratch, with layer on layer, I guess? * - L4MER_N3WBY3 - Mar 22, 2016 I quote Sejskaler thats no way to deal with them on ai, I suggest you to export your Illustrator (once its finished) file into .psd (you may want to have good use of your elements into your layers, otherwise you could get all elements under the same layer merged into one), then edit your exported .psd file directly from Photoshop, you will have the control on the different layer styles. No other ways I know, btw the process couldn't be reversed as long as I know, you won't be able again to load your edited file with PS into AI again (I mean you can certainly do this, but you won't be able anymore to deal with vectors but only with a rasterized object). * - Rivalry - Mar 25, 2016 Can't do it! Just export your finished Illustrator project to Photoshop and apply the styles there. |
