Wipe MacBook install Linux! - Dale Carnegie - Apr 3, 2016 So I have a macbook that's in restore mode and I can't get it to install the OS that's on it. Just keeps giving me errors. Is there anyway I can just put linux on this? Any help would be very appreciated 🤝 * - mixnet - Apr 4, 2016 You can create a bootable USB (or DVD if you have a mac with an optical drive) with any Linux OS. Then to boot into USB/DVD just hold alt when booting up your mac and it will show up. You can then install Linux on your mac or just run the live version from your USB. Hope that helps. * - Dale Carnegie - Apr 4, 2016 (Apr 4, 2016 09:24 AM)mixnet Wrote: You can create a bootable USB (or DVD if you have a mac with an optical drive) with any Linux OS. As long as the live preview is installed on the flash drive properly, the mac should recognize it. * - mixnet - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 4, 2016 08:02 PM)-VenoM Wrote: As long as the live preview is installed on the flash drive properly, the mac should recognize it. Exactly. There are guides on how to burn the Linux ISO to a USB on their websites. * - Dale Carnegie - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 6, 2016 05:30 AM)mixnet Wrote: Exactly.
