Increasing file size on a pdf - Monostable555 - Apr 14, 2016 So one of my teachers keeps complain about the file size being too big. Every time we have projects that require schematics, 3d designs and other types of graphical media, I usually go for very high resolution like 8K (the school bought a few 8K monitors so why not use them for what yours made fore). Well anyways I’m just wondering if there is any way to alter the file size in a pdf to ~250 mb ~1GB without losing picture quality! Thanks for any help! * - OrWestSide - Apr 14, 2016 (Apr 14, 2016 12:49 PM)Monostable555 Wrote: So one of my teachers keeps complain about the file size being too big. I think this is not possible. The file size is big because you have many pixels to save (8K) so you have a bigger resolution(more pixels mean more detail). If you want to lower your file size you have to cut some of the pixels off.But as I explained above you will lose quality. It's a trade-off my friend. PS.Solutions like "Oh I'm just gonna zip it twice" dont work * - killcode567 - Apr 14, 2016 You could check this out and see if it helps 😉 http://computers.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-reduce-the-size-of-your-pdf-without-compromising-image-quality--cms-21698 * - Monostable555 - Apr 15, 2016 Sorry if I got misunderstood. I don’t want do decrease the file size, I want to increase it as a practical joke. My files are around 200 mb I want to increase them to 1 GB or more! * - Freebooter - Apr 15, 2016 (Apr 15, 2016 12:09 AM)Monostable555 Wrote: Sorry if I got misunderstood. Is there no way to increase the file size, I just don’t want anything to be visible in the pdf but if you can ad 100000 images inside it without them showing, that would be great. Also how would I hid files in a rar archive? * - Freebooter - Apr 15, 2016 You can attach a big file to pdf file it will be not visible. * - Monostable555 - Apr 15, 2016 Do you mean to a rar archive or to the pdf file itself? Because I duplicated the background image 100 times even though 100 of those images would result in ~400 mb the compiled pdf was only 34 mb. I changed all the settings to the highest dpi and lowest compression but still not a big file : / * - Freebooter - Apr 15, 2016 You can add attachment to a PDF file install Foxit Reader and follow the instructions at below link. You can create a winrar archive that is big in size and attach it to PDF file. " Foxit Reader - How to attach files into PDF documents" http://tips.betdownload.com/foxit-reader-how-to-attach-files-into-pdf-documents-103n.aspx * - rhah - Apr 15, 2016 You can just use type command in cmd. Like: type yourfile >> test.rar This appends data in yourfile to the end of file test.rar So, size of test.rar grows as much yourfile has data. And you still can open test.rar with Winrar for example. Winrar doesn't read that appended data. This should work with pdf also. Appended data is not visible. * - Monostable555 - Apr 15, 2016 Thanks it worked great! Is there any way my teacher can find the files that are hidden in the pdf? * - Freebooter - Apr 15, 2016 (Apr 15, 2016 01:32 PM)Monostable555 Wrote: Thanks it worked great! The method with Foxit reader. I didn’t see the other method until you mentioned it. IL try it and compare the results though they should be identical as it seems * - Freebooter - Apr 15, 2016 Yes attached files can be found by having a look to see if PDF file contains any attachment if it this is not checked then attachment is invisible to user. |
