Are there any websites to practice social engineering? - Synchro - May 2, 2016

I know there are websites to help you improve your hacking abilities but i was just wondering does anybody know any good websites that help you test your social engineering abilities?

I know social engineering is mostly an IRL "hack" but would be nice to find a place to practice it online. Obviously i could practice it IRL too if i just went into a random shop and started talking about stuff lol

I used to practice by ringing local businesses and trying to get the receptionist to navigate to my website.

Nothing like this exists. Even if it did it would be so unrealistic compared to the real thing.

Pretty sure this isn't allowed to be discussed on here.

You're better off reading books about navigating social situations and mastering the art of conversation. Social engineers are often charismatic and have a good grasp of human psychology. You should read some books by Kevin Mitnick. He was quite gifted at it. Social Engineering, particularly Phishing and similar topics are disallowed here on HF, so I cannot tell you anything more, I'm afraid, and you won't find any tutorials here. But it is absolutely an important skill for pentesters to have.
