How To Get 2FA || No Phone Needed || Several Easy & Secure Methods - dopepizza - May 4, 2016
I have seen a lot of people complaining. In the near future, all accounts will need 2FA. And new passwords.
But a lot of people don't have cell phones to get Authy on, so today I am going to help you with that.
1. Desktop apps:
- Authy Desktop: Here - For any OS.
2. Extensions:
- Chrome, Authenticator extension.
- Firefox, 2FA extension.
3. Emulator
You can actually use something like Andy, Bluestacks or Blacknox to download 2FA apps. Or Gauth. And it works great. Although I will not understand why you would do that as it is way easier to get a browser extension or the regular Authy app that's compatible with any OS.
That's all you need to get 2FA on your account now. You don't want to lose your account, do you?

I always wanted an online 2FA :/
Omni shall make an email code 2FA or you can choose a 4 digit pin or something like that.

Only possible problem. Is I am pretty sure in order to use authy desktop you need a phone number. Which I mean...They should have access to a house phone or something. I suppose. Just I wouldn't use a phone you don't own.

Correct, that's why Authy allows you to cloud backup all of your codes for 2fa...
Make sure backups are turned on and store them on paper/whatever in your wallet or home safe.

the reason 2FA should be on your phone is to stop keyloggers and rats that might have compromised your computer
putting authy on your computer ruins half of the security
