Syntaxic // HF Syntax Highlighter - You'll have one more thing to FAP to; code! - Xutdes. - May 14, 2016 </> Syntaxic The hackforums syntax highlighter Reading code on Hackforums was always a hard time, especially since MyBB doesn't offer proper syntax highlighting, except for PHP. Believe me, being on this forum for a couple days really damaged my inner brain, just by trying to help people correct their code. "Syntaxic gives you one more thing to fap to everyday; code blocks!".. ![]() ![]() ![]() Features Syntaxic utilizes HighlightJS. It can automatically detect over 150 languages and comes with 72 different styles and themes. Syntaxic also enables you to easily expand code blocks just by double-clicking on them. Another feature that I find really helpful, is the edit feature. You can easily edit code directly from any code block. And the best things is, once you're done, the syntax highlighting is automatically adjusted. Although this extension might seem to do little. Eventually, more features are going to be added, and I'm excited to have your feedback on them! ![]() How to Install First, clone the repository or just download it as a ZIP file. If you downloaded it as a zip file, unzip the file and move it to a directory of your liking (you'll have to keep it there for as long as you need to use this extension). Open your chrome browser, click on the burger icon (or the menu as some people may call it). Click on settings, and then from the menu go to extensions. You'll see a developer mode checkbox, check it. You'll be presented with three new buttons. Click on Load Unpacked Extension and using the dialog box, select the folder where Syntaxic exists in. Horaay! You now have Syntaxic installed. In the near future, our extension will be on the chrome web store. That would make installing Syntaxic a breeze. Support, Feedback & Suggestions If you have any questions, problems or bugs, you can post them
here or create an issue on GitHub. For suggestions, you can always PM them to me, or reply them to this thread. For the time being, I'll only have a chrome extension, but soon, after I familiarize myself with the Firefox API, a plugin will be made for it, so don't worry if you're an FF user. If you have any suggesting I really would like to hear them. * - Goodies - May 15, 2016 I'm not a big Chrome user, but I absolutely love this... It's nice to see code in language-specific colors as opposed to just whatever PHP can recognize with the [php] tags can identify. * - Xutdes. - May 15, 2016 (May 15, 2016 11:04 AM)Goodies Wrote: I'm not a big Chrome user, but I absolutely love this... Actually, I'm really close to releasing the Firefox version, just sorting a few things out, and making sure it's up to standards. I might as well just get the chrome version and the firefox one in their stores. * - Hash G. - May 16, 2016 It looks dope, thanks for this script man! * - Xutdes. - May 16, 2016 (May 16, 2016 12:26 PM)Hash G. Anyways, I'm currently implementing a feature where you select a piece of text and it'll turn it into a code block. * - Xutdes. - May 22, 2016 Working on an amazing update, so stay tuned! * - Xutdes. - Oct 21, 2016 It would be great to get feedback or suggestions on this. I'm hoping to get back to working on Syntaxic, but there doesn't seem to be any interest. |
