Dualbooting on an external HDD - Frankey - May 15, 2016

Hey!

I Currently Have a Macbook Pro 13" 2015 Base Modell thing with Retina Display. And I would Love to dualboot Windows onto it.

Is is possible to boot it onto an external Drive because I use one because macbook only has 128GB. If so, HOW? would love too know it.

I would recommend you to buy parallels or maybe you can find it in the internet ;)
You can run windows as a VM BUT it operates like two OS at once.

You can install windows programs and can dock it. Then Mac OS opens the program within the VM.

Just inform you about Parallels. I hope I could help you :)

I have dual booted windows and Mac on Mac from the same drive, but never from external HDD.

Though I've also booted windows & linux on a non-Mac PC, from the different /external drive.

I wish I could have been more helpful.

I know this would work with different OS X versions for sure. Just install them on a external HDD and boot your mac whilst holding the option key. You can choose what disk to boot from. I think this will also work with Windows but not sure. If you try it out, let me know the result!
