[Spoilers] Elfien Lied ending - Warbeak - May 16, 2016
I finished Elfien Lied recently and I loved it
The ending was quite open to interpretation, which I don't mind, so I was looking to see if anyone had any thoughts on it. Here are mine:
Lucy clearly lost her last horn, which could mean two things. Either she died or she just let her other horn get shot off or tore it off herself. She didn't die, based on the fact that she used her vectors for something before the people started shooting at her and she didn't seem like she wanted to die because of that. The one doctor lady, whose name I forgot, who hid Kouta's photo to protect him is the only other possible person to show up at their door. Nyu was the one who was fixing and working with the clock all the time, so we can assume it was an attempt at foreshadowing Lucy/Nyu being the person at the door. You might wonder why Nana didn't detect Lucy/Nyu being at the door, and there could be two reasons. One: ripping out both horns removed her powers or at least her ability to be detected by other diclonius, two: Lucy became Nyu again(more reasonable)
tl;dr: Nyu was at the door, not the science chick whose name i forgot

i agree with you.
though lucy becoming nyu seems kinda improbable cause of all the fighting she had to do in last episodes and her becoming nyu does not exactly matches the manga author's story mindset for a ending/cliffhanger.

You have to read the manga for the real ending bug it was pretty good manga as well, didn't like the anime ending to much
