Is it best to avoid Toshiba? - Tron40 - May 28, 2016 When I bought my Toshiba Satellite laptop almost 5.5 years ago, I chose the brand based on the quality I've seen in Toshiba TV's, stereos and other electronics. They seemed to always be about quality. So I got a Toshiba laptop. It was my first one, and now it's dead. After the first year, the hard drive died and I had to replace it. Since then, I've read posts from other people saying their Toshiba hard drive died after a year or year and a half. That started making me wonder. Well, now that it's dead (monitor doesn't display anything anymore), I'm thinking of getting another laptop, but I'm not in any big hurry since I still have a desktop (a cheap one not internet capable, but able to do most of what I need at home for now.) I noticed computers of other brands and wondered about how they would compare to Toshiba. So I did some checking and found this website: http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/laptop-brand-ratings Toshiba is the worst! Maybe good in TV's and stereos, but not in computers! So now when looking for a laptop for about $300 at Best Buy, it looks like I should get serious about an Asus, which ranks 3rd in company ratings according to the site I referenced earlier. This laptop looks like a winner: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i3-4gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-silver/4831500.p?id=bb4831500&skuId=4831500 Learn from my mistake and avoid Toshiba! |
