So, this is probably a stupid question, but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere. Where/how do people who make account generators get the accounts they generate for it from? Do they buy them from others? Do the generators bruteforce accounts? or what?
I was planning on making one to sell here, either as a source or as a product itself. Would people be willing to pay for one? How much could I sell one for?

I'm very familiar with how this works let me explain it to you.
All accounts are stolen more or less. This is how it works:
You have a cracker (program) e.g Sentry MBA
You SQL Inject a website
Dump the user:password list
and then start cracking.
The only reason why this works is because people are stupid enough to use the same password for everything.
IMO: Account generators are not as good as it sounds hence the cheap prices.

Yes what the user above said is basically how it works. You can no longer sell account generators on here and the minimum price for an account is $1

Most of them either create or buy "combos", which are the dumped username:password credentials from an X website. Then, they run the combos on SentryMBA or other account crackers and from there they get the working accounts. After, they just put the working accounts on the generator for people to retrieve them. Not a great thing as accounts are shared and raped as fuck.

What about a source for it? Just wondering, seems unlikely I'll make or sell it then.

Many ways of doing it.
And as suggested, the word "generator" may not be accurate as the program you use doesn't really generate anything. It merely pick something out of a database (a list) and gives it to you. Meaning, there is a finite amount of accounts. There may be a great deal of them, so the "generator" may be beneficial to you. But it is not the same as actually getting a new, valid, account every time you click "generate".
I saw a clever premium minecraft-account generator once. You had to login with your own premium account first, in order to get access to a list of free ones.
Yeah .. ;)
Mostly - all of this is an ongoing cat-and-mouse game between those who know, and the ones who don't.
