Someone help? BTC problem. - Nick - Jun 13, 2016 So I was doing a deal with someone (have done multiple deals with him through BTC, all went smooth) and he sent me $150 BTC so I'm like alright cool. However, I sent him the address (the one that you copy from the coinbase app, I do this before every transaction) and nothing popped. Usually I get like a pending payment right? Well I didn't get it and he showed me proof he sent it. I went to copy my address again in a separate PM since I thought maybe he put it in wrong or something but then the address became something completely different. What's going on here? My address just can't change within two seconds this is absurd. Is that $150 down the drain or will he get his money back from sending money to an invalid BTC address? I'm so stressed out right now. * - tobyyy99 - Jun 13, 2016 Usually when your bitcoin address changes, the old one works for a period of time. The time it works really depends on the wallet you got, but usually work for several days if not months. * - thedakklee - Jun 13, 2016 I got the same problem with one user. Still no more on my wallet it has been 2 hours https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5303825 * - 7Summers - Jun 13, 2016 coinbase is dieng, abort that wallet asap. * - Crazy Dave - Jun 13, 2016 (Jun 13, 2016 03:15 PM)tobyyy99 Wrote: Usually when your bitcoin address changes, the old one works for a period of time. Yeah I posted a thread about a week ago for a similar problem and it showed a few minutes later. It took like 45 or 50min for mine to go through but it was an old address so I was thinking I sent it to the wrong one by mistake but I'm not that retarded I think mine was on multibit idk why they gotta change the address like that * - SIM-2501407 - Jun 13, 2016 (Jun 13, 2016 03:16 PM)eral123 Wrote: I got the same problem with one user. I'm stressed and furious about this. * - Jаson - Jun 13, 2016 This is why I use http://blockchain.info/ Too much confusion. * - Nick - Jun 13, 2016 The payment went though. I about had a heart attack. It turns out that the old BTC address would work after a certain amount of time. (Luckily that time for was roughly two seconds) Thanks guys. |
