I'm going to flat out say I don't know of a solution to this as this has been brought up a LOT of times and I do see both sides to the argument.
I believe that the current ignore system is completely useless. By adding a user on ignore all you are allowing them to do is to talk shit behind your back. They are still able to harass you on your threads which are technically with in the bounds of the rules. For most sites, when you add a user to ignore they loose all aspects of contacting you. I can see as this is a forum and an open community how this can not be possible but all the ignore system is currently doing is preventing users from PMing you. Normally if you have a person on ignore it says "click to show the message" but often they shit talk or flame on your thread and people are bound to quote them meaning you see the message anyway. What is the point of even hiding it if there is a 99% chance that you're going to be able to see it anyway.
As stated above I don't have a solution to this issue, it's just a frustrating problem that I am having to deal with every time I visit this site.

If they are flaming/harassing or w/e to you just report the post and don't worry about it.

I feel like I'd be reporting them almost every time that they comment on one of my threads or quotes one of my quotes.

If someone is harassing you, use the report system.
