The child, who is about 2 years old, officials say, was dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa around 9:30 p.m., sheriff's office spokeswoman Rose Silva said.
Deputies have taped off the scene and are searching the waters.
The child has not yet been found.
Witnesses as well as Florida Fish & Wildlife officials reported that the alligator could have been up to 7-feet-long.
Pretty sad, hopefully they can find the toddler.
