Why is Omni repfucking members that report scammers? - Insomnolence - Jun 26, 2016 Well, I've had 2 people complain so far in a Skype chat that they are being repfucked for reporting scammers directly to him. I'm just wondering why that's something that happens. If someone is reporting a scammer, isn't that making HF a better place? Why are people being repfucked for this? Is it because these people are not supposed to contact omni directly for this kind of thing? I can't think of any other reason why these members would be repfucked. Now I would link the profiles of the people that got repfucked but I don't know if they want it linked or not. So, can someone please fill me in on why this is happening? I'm gonna go refresh myself on the rules as it's been a year or so since I've read them. * - SIM-2908357 - Jun 26, 2016 Hackforums doesn't get involved with deal disputes, simple as that. * - Stashy - Jun 26, 2016 Because Hack Forums is not responsible for any deals, and you are supposed to post any disputes in the dispute or community alert sections. * - minimalist - Jun 26, 2016 Because you don't contact Omniscient about a scammer, it just wastes his time which can be frustrating when you run something as grand as HF. * - FamousHater - Jun 26, 2016 hackforums does not get in between deal disputes. and if u have an issue with this then feel free to pm the man himself. sure he will be more than happy to explain it to u * - Grim - Jun 26, 2016 Did they do something against the rules? If so thats the only reason they would get rep killed. * - Lord - Jun 26, 2016 Exactly what everyone else said. HF staff doesn't get involved. * - 12Chainz - Jun 26, 2016 (Jun 26, 2016 06:45 PM)Akzius Wrote: Hackforums doesn't get involved with deal disputes, simple as that. It's amazing how simple this is but how hard it is for people to grasp. * - Insomnolence - Jun 26, 2016 (Jun 26, 2016 06:45 PM)Akzius Wrote: Hackforums doesn't get involved with deal disputes, simple as that. Actually, that would make sense. But a repfuck? Surely that's a bit harsh. Maybe omni is tired of reading the PM's, but wouldn't a 75% warning level be enough instead? * - Nerdi - Jun 26, 2016 (Jun 26, 2016 06:46 PM)H u b b a Wrote: Because Hack Forums is not responsible for any deals, and you are supposed to post any disputes in the dispute or community alert sections.^ Omni frequently tells people to check the rules / Help Docs before PMing him...and I'm sure he gets tons of PMs. I was an admin on a board that was not nearly as active as this, and the amount of PMs I got about shit that is clearly answered in the FAQ got very annoying. I'm sure it's exponentially worse for Omni. To be honest, I'm both surprised and glad that he lets people PM him. Many other less personable admins would probably force users to go through mods, with mods and friends of the admin being the only ones who could PM them. * - Seaking - Jun 26, 2016 (Jun 26, 2016 06:47 PM)Insomnolence Wrote: Actually, that would make sense. Yea I'm sure he has time to set each member to 75% that bothers him with a PM. I can only assume HF takes a majority of his day without him having to sift through mountains of PM's over stupid bullshit that hes stated over and over again. It's smarter to just RK people and make members read the rules multiple times to make sure they don't send him a stupid message. * - bοxxy - Jun 26, 2016 Because it's against the rules, and people are doing it anyways. * - Flared - Jun 26, 2016 Because you aren't supposed to pm him about deal disputes? It says it in the rules im pretty sure. Still fucked up that he just immediately rep kills whenever he feels like. * - Esme - Jun 26, 2016 (Jun 26, 2016 06:47 PM)Insomnolence Wrote: Actually, that would make sense. But a repfuck? They broke a rule, I agree the punishment is a bit harsh but its the way its going to be dealt |
