Important News to AGC CUSTOMERS! | How I randomly lost 1.500$ AGC taken by Amazon - Divinity - Jul 9, 2016
Hey guys,
I've wanted to share an important note to everyone out there, who is buying amazon gift cards and has over 1.000$ in stock.
I've lately saved up to 1.500 Amazon gift cards, they were on my account for literally 3 months. Decided to finally buy myself a MacBook Pro. The Macbook was a total of 3000 so I had to split the money trough AGC and direct debit. Anyways, I ordered it, 3 days passed all was good. They were just about to deliver it, but while I was stupid again and found a never macbook version and I'm a person that always needs the newest and best, I decided to cancel the order. So all was good, went the next day to the bank, got my splitted 1.500 back. Then I was trying to buy the newer model, but then I found this. Spoiler (Click to View)
it means translated: "couldn't check in the amazon giftcard." so pretty much while I canceled the order and amazon was trying to checkin the latest gift cards, it didn't work. I was extremely shocked at first, so I called the support right away. They told me I shouldn't be to frightened about it, it might be a mistake in their system, they'll fix it eventually and come back to me. Gave him my phone number, everything was fine until I received an autosended message from amazon saying they cannot refund the gift cards and are not allowed to giveout any more details. What did I do? Obviously went to the chat and tried the same way again, told them about my problem.. They said they fix it, 2 hours later same eMail. After all that, I was just fucking annoyed by amazon and didn't care about the gift cards anymore, but at least I wanted an answer why they can't refund my gift cards. The newest update from amazons allows amazon to:
- disable gift cards even after they're checked in (up to 6 months later)
- don't have to refund and don't have to give you details
and sadly, the most stupid thing: if you buy something with gift cards and try to cancel the order, it's most likely gonna end up like it did for me that the database of amazon cannot checkin all the single gift cards :: ending up with disabling the giftcards and not giving you a refund.
This extremely sucks, especially as if I wouldn't of had canceled my shitty order I would've had my order by now. The gift cards were 3 months on my account, so if there where any problems with the cards they could've taken them at this time. But no, me being stupid and canceling the order I had to unfortunately end up losing 1500$.
This is super fucked up, and I highly WARN all of you guys. DO NOT CANCEL ANY ORDER PAYED WITH AGC HIGHER THAN 500$.

Um i canceled orders that i paid with amazon gift card balance before no problem. Did you redeem 1.5k giftcards at the checkout or something?

It's new. As I said in my thread, they were on my accounts for 3 months. I've never had problems with it before as I've ordered more than 100 items from amazon all bought with gift cards.

That's definitely some fucked up stuff by Amazon. I would be pissed, but I reckon it is in their terms of service now and lawsuit isn't an option.

I still have $~394 on my Amazon Giftcard balance that's been locked for no reason, and they ask me to provide them with billing documents that require my bank to call them, it's really ridiculous.

I'm confused "they were just about to deliver it" deliver or ship? Cause if they were about to deliver...and you canceled...I can see why your AGC were confiscated.
