Well seems like the owner of kickass torrents has been arrested and multiple kickass torrent domains have been seized.
"Although some proxy sites seem to be currently up and running, its main site, https://kat.cr, appears to be down worldwide and most of the other KAT domains, including kickasstorrents.com, kastatic.com, thekat.tv, kat.cr, kickass.cr, kickass.to, kat.ph, have been seized by the authorities."
"Charges Filed Against KickassTorrents Owner
According to criminal complaint filed in US District Court in Chicago, Vaulin faces:
Two counts of criminal copyright infringement.
One count of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement.
One count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
The United States federal authorities say that KickassTorrent has caused damages of more than $1 Billion to copyright holders."

Unless someone happens to have a copy of the database or their are multiple owners, then it may be the final moment of it's life. It seems as if it was a pretty big site though.

Although this seems grim for internet pirating (not supporting or opposing it) the truth is that even though this owner of a pirating site was found and arrested the site will probably simply be created again with better security like The Silk Road and the proxy sites contain all the torrents to copy and paste onto another site.

This shit is so stupid. What do they think is gonna happen, another website will go up in a few weeks and it will just as big in a few months. All the uploaders will just transfer over and re upload they're torrents.
