Baccano! - Aura - Jul 21, 2016

Quote:During the early 1930s in Chicago, the transcontinental train, Flying Pussyfoot, is starting its legendary journey that will leave a trail of blood all over the country. At the same time in New York, the ambitious scientist Szilard and his unwilling aide Ennis are looking for missing bottles of the immortality elixir. In addition, a war between the mafia groups is getting worse. On board the Advena Avis, in 1711, alchemists are about to learn the price of immortality.

Based on the award-winning light novels of the same name, Baccano! follows several events that initially seem unrelated, both in time and place, but are part of a much bigger story—one of alchemy, survival and immortality. Merging these events together are the kindhearted would-be thieves, Isaac and Miria, connecting various people, all of them with their own hidden ambitions and agendas, and creating lifelong bonds and consequences for everyone involved.

What the fuck am I watching? Why is it ranked so high on MAL? Am I missing something?

I liked it. It's a very odd anime but its fun for sure.

Watched both Baccano and Durarara, both created by the same author. Hated both. Not worth watching and I don't understand why they are rated so highly.

Because they're actually good?

People like the weirdness and larger than life characters and mainly how there is no omnipresent plot and rather relies on its characters to create a world otherwise. Its fans create a cult and do overhype them both but they do deserve praise for doing something different and not following the 101 Anime class. Don't blame people for not liking it though, for me it got repetitive quickly and it won't be in my top 10 favourites, still enjoyed it enough though.

Baccano gets better with each episode , "Issac and miria" is one of the best couples i have seen in anime and they are the major reason this shows is Funny and thrilling at the same time.

I understand the concept. It's unique at first. As the story develops from each character's point of view, you start piecing everything together. The problem is that the stories just weren't appealing to me.

I'd love to hear what makes Baccano "the worst anime".

* - Crya - Jul 22, 2016

I have watched about 3 or so episodes before I put it on hold. I didn't dislike it, I just couldn't get into it. I would recommend to keep watching because I was told that it is one of those shows that get better later in the show.

Baccano! is fucking amazing.

* - Aura - Jul 24, 2016

Alright so I just finished Baccano! and while I must say it was good, it wasn't good enough to deserve the current ranking it have right now to be honest. Looks a bit too much overhyped to me.

* - Retr0 - Jul 25, 2016

Baccano! had probably the most unique method of storytelling I have seen in any anime and the fact that it spans across separate time periods was pretty cool, I have yet to finish it but will definitely get around to it. :)
