Synopsis :
March 25th—just another day during spring break.
Koyomi Araragi, a second year high school student at Naoetsu High School, befriends Tsubasa Hanekawa, the top honors student at his school. Tsubasa mentions a rumor about a "blonde vampire" that has been sighted around their town recently. Koyomi, who is usually anti-social, takes a liking to Tsubasa's down-to-earth personality.
That evening, Koyomi encounters this rumored vampire: she is Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade, also known as the "King of Apparitions." The blonde, golden-eyed vampire cries out for Koyomi to save her as she lies in a pool of her own blood, all four of her limbs cut off.
Kiss-shot asks Koyomi to give her his blood in order to save her life, and when he does, the very next moment he awakes, Koyomi finds himself re-born as her vampire kin.
As Koyomi struggles to accept his existence, Kiss-shot whispers,
"Welcome to the world of darkness..."

Personal opinion : Being a huge monogatari fan, I am absolutely disappointed in this, LN was so much better.
About the bad sub : I am pretty sure that currently subbed version are just lines copy-pasted from LN, i could hve done a better job at that.

I dont think anyone watched the monogatari series in chronological order because of how complicated it is to know what order to watch it in.

I've watched all the series in order minus koyomonigatari as I got lazy (the most recent;which is just like 12 12 minute ONA episodes); thanks for the heads up that this is out, I'll really have to catch up now and watch such things.

Wait for better subs to release then? Or just see it in theaters like a few people from the section did.

Paid someone off subbing group to sub it...got refund cause they told me bad sub version and them subbing it won't make much difference.
I feel it's not just the sub that's faulty, check first 4 mins of movie, you will know what am trying to say.

Vouch, saw it in theaters. It was really fun seeing Monogatari on the big screen, and I didn't see any problems with the subs.

Wasn't here, it aired over in a few theaters in Texas. Don't think there were any showings for it over here (edit: that wouldn't require a 4 hour drive)

Subs were ok for me, not sure what everyone else is talking about. Movie was good, had some really funny moments in it too. Only thing I didn't like were the kids from /a/ in the row above me who wouldn't shut up

I just finished watching this. I have to say, the art was amazing. Excited for the next part, sadly I don't think there'll be a cinema screening here I'd be able to attend.
