Hello. I recently received a warning for posting a currency exchange thread in Traders Topics. This is fine and I'm not here to complain, ask for the warning to be removed, or anything like that. I want to make sure that is very clear... Today I am suggesting that the rules regarding Traders Topics and crypto currency exchanges are made more clear. As far as I can tell, this rule is not publicly stated or done so clearly. I have found no reference to the rule I was warned for in all of the places I have searched. After speaking with some long time members, they recommended to me that I make this thread so that others do not accidentally break the rule as well.
The official rules do not make any mention of Traders Topics.

Currency Exchange section doesn't say anything about the rule.
Currency Exchange
Currency Exchange does say "This section has limitations for thread creation for Ub3r only. Use this forum to exchanges crypto currencies. Please use extreme caution in all trades.", but please read below. I also forgot about this description until just now when I went into the section to see if there is a Rules thread there or anything. You can't see this description from the homepage. I always interpreted this section's description as "This section is for crypto currency exchanges, and this specific section is for Ub3rs". I had obviously falsely interpreted it, but I think it would be nice if it was clarified to say "This is the only section that may be used for crypto currency exchanges".
The Traders Topics section is also filled with currency exchange topics. I have seen this section used for these types of trades for months, and I thought it was the intended location for it because I have never seen a rule stating otherwise. Now that I know this rule, it seems that Traders Topics is pages and pages of rule breaking threads. To be honest, I always thought Currency Exchange was used for Ub3rs to trade currencies and Traders Topics was for everyone else - Much like Premium/Secondary are used to differentiate between types of users.
Since Sam warned me for it and he knows the rules, it's clear that this IS a rule in place. Again, I'm not complaining about the warning. My only hope is that this specific rule is made more visible in existing rules threads. I've been given only a handful of warnings since I signed up in 2012 (maybe 2 or 3? Not sure). I am pretty certain I know all of the rules as I read Omni's changes to them (for ex the multi vouch rule), and I have read them in full on numerous occasions. I was honestly quite surprised that this was against the rules.

I agree, this rule needs to be made clearer. Perhaps adding it to the Traders Section rules at the top of the page would help and prevent having other users preventing others that they 'can't do currency exchanges in the traders section'.

Thanks for popping in Obli. I didn't even notice until now. I thought nobody cared about my thread whatsoever lol. Anyways, hopefully this gets noticed at some point or another... I think it would be very helpful for making sure people don't break the rules.

That's not a policy violation. Warning revoked. I've contacted the Staff that warned you to clarify this to them.
